Los Premios Saturn 2026 confirmaron a sus principales contendientes y consolidaron una tendencia que atraviesa toda la temporada de premios: el protagonismo del cine y las series de género. Pecadores, producción de Warner Bros. dirigida por Ryan Coogler, lidera las nominaciones cinematográficas con 12 menciones, tras haber marcado un récord reciente de 16 nominaciones al Oscar.
En el mismo nivel aparecen Avatar: Fire and Ash, de James Cameron, y The Fantastic Four: First Steps, de Marvel Studios, ambas con 12 candidaturas. Les siguen Frankenstein, de Guillermo del Toro, con 11 nominaciones, Wicked: For Good con nueve y Superman con ocho, configurando un mapa donde la ciencia ficción, la fantasía y el universo superheroico concentran el mayor reconocimiento.
La ceremonia de los Premios Saturn, otorgados por la Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, se realizará el domingo 8 de marzo en el Universal Hilton y será conducida por Joel McHale. Allí se premiarán producciones de cine, televisión y lanzamientos en formato hogareño dentro de los géneros de fantasía, ciencia ficción, terror, superhéroes y acción-aventura.
En el rubro televisivo, Dexter: Resurrection (Showtime/Paramount+) se posiciona al frente con seis nominaciones, seguida por Andor, It: Welcome to Derry y Stranger Things, que obtuvieron cinco menciones cada una. El listado confirma la centralidad de las series de género dentro del consumo audiovisual contemporáneo.
Desde la organización, el presidente de la Academia, Robert Holguin, junto a Bradley Marcus y Kevin Marcus, destacaron que las nominaciones reflejan “por qué el público vuelve año tras año a estas historias”, subrayando el rol del género como espacio de encuentro, imaginación y escala narrativa dentro de la industria.
Con una grilla dominada por grandes estudios y universos consolidados, los Saturn Awards 2026 vuelven a funcionar como termómetro específico del audiovisual de género, en un contexto donde estas producciones ya no ocupan un lugar periférico sino central dentro del calendario anual de premios.
